Danny Bilson, one of the two major executives who is set to leave THQ, gave his soon to be former employers a decent farewell gift by hyping up the upcoming fourth instalment in the Saints Row series.
Saints Row: The Third was a huge success for THQ, both critically but more importantly financially as well. The game managed to bring in a considerable amount of revenue during a time when the company was suffering financially and one can attribute the better condition of the studio to the game’s sales performance.
As with anything that sold by the millions the first time around, THQ is working on a follow up title to build on the previous instalments success. One has to wonder what the studio has in mind that can out-do the wacky, quirky and at times, hilarious title that was Saints Row: The Third.
Going into details about what exactly was so ‘out there’ in the last game would be inappropriate at this time but just to put things into context over a million non-playable characters in the game had been killed by oversized s*x-toys. And that was just a month into the game.
Commenting on the upcoming iteration of the game, Bilson pointed out why it would be a title everyone should be keeping an eye on. “Generally I’m incredibly excited about the content in Saints Row 4. There’s a lot of new characters and new points of view in the game.”
At the same time Bilson also explained that Saints Row 4 would also appeal to a wider audience this time around and would also pack content that no gamer had seen before; judging by what every gamer saw in Saints Row: The Third one has to wonder what those yet to be seen things are.
Bilson continued, “It expands the appeal of the game. It has all the stuff you love, plus more stuff you’ve never seen in any game. Well, we kind of do that with Saints Row, right?”
It will be interesting to see if Saints Row 4 makes an appearance at this year’s E3, though at this point in time that seems rather unlikely.
