The downloadable content pack allows players to recover health by sucking the blood out of their victims vampire-style, but without the Twilight ‘sparkle’. Yay!
THQ may not be as prominent a studio on this generation of consoles if one was to compare them to how they dominated the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, yet they every so often they release a game that catches everyone pleasantly by surprise.
One exception to that however, has been the Saints Row series, which proved a worthy competitor to the Grand Theft Auto games that everyone seemed to be playing.
In fact, Saints Row The Third has been praised by critics and gamers for its unique, quirky and original take on the sandbox genre. A game that doesn’t take itself too seriously but delivers in terms of depth and immersion, the latest game is one that everyone,
who is over 18, should give a chance.
As for the gamers who already own the game and are running out of things to do there is a bit of good news as THQ have announced a DLC for the title. It may not be an expansion pack or have too much weight about it but does add to the list of amusing things
one can do in the game.
The ‘Bloodsucker’ DLC pack is inspired by Underworld or Twilight, whichever one is more inclined towards, as it, “provides you with a brand new ability to latch onto your captives and regain health from sucking their blood, performed by pressing in on the
right stick.”
The publisher continued, “This pack also comes with other bonuses to keep you in the game, including VIP bonuses for Cash Boosts, Hourly Income, Respect, and the Scavenger ability.”
As for pricing, well the latest DLC pack will cost gamers on the PlayStation 3, Steam and OnLive around $2.00 while Xbox users will be set back a total of 160 MS Points.
Some fans may have wanted something more considerable to have come their way but the idea may satisfy a large number of ‘vampire’ fans who always dreamed of having a city full of people whose blood they could suck out...or maybe not.
