Saints Row: The Third gets s**y, Dead Space 3 gets split personality
Saints Row: The Third developer explains that the term ‘s**y’ is set to be pushed to its video game limit and Dead Space 3 has another information leak as it turns out there might be a bit of split personality in the game, but more of the creepy kind.
Kicking things off with the game which made purple an acceptable colour for gangsters in the criminal underworld, something the Joker from Batman was never able to do, and how Saints Row: The Third is setting out to be one of the more evocative titles on
offer.
Drew Homes from Volition, the developer of the game, stated that the studio, “certainly push the boundaries – particularly with stuff like the ‘s*x appeal’ slider.”
The game is also known for having at least one actress from the adult film industry among its cast in the game, with the third edition seeing Sasha Grey enter the fold.
However, the studio did reiterate the fact that they intended to make sure that it was all done in good taste and would not be looking to offend anyone, “You never want to cross the line into crudely offensive. It’s a thin line to walk, but you know when
you’ve crossed it – and as long as it stays irreverent and tongue-in-cheek, then we can push it a lot further than if we were trying to play serious.”
What exactly the developer means by all that and what Volition define as boundaries may not be all that clear at the moment, but one can be sure to find out as the game nears its release.
Moving on from the world of purple clad gangsters to one full of limb dismembering and frenetic action-horror, as more Dead Space 3 details seem to have found their way on to the net.
After the first, as yet unconfirmed leak which hinted that Dead Space 3 would take place on an icy planet, with a number of characters from Dead Space 2 returning, as well as a number of new ones joining the fray as well, the second leak has a slightly more
darker twist to it.
Being dubbed ‘Shadow Isaac’ it seems that the game’s protagonist, Isaac Clarke, has gone a bit mental and developed a serious case of split personality. Rather than just being used as a gimmick to scare gamers out of their pants during random intervals,
‘Shadow Isaac’ will have a significant role to play in the overall plot of the third game.
There are also rumours that Dead Space 3 will also be centered around another ‘Marker’, which can only be good news for gamers who developed a taste for dismembering the limbs of necromorphs from previous games.
