Sakio Bika not worried about fighting Andre Ward in his hometown
Pulses are rising for the upcoming November 27 clash between Andre Ward and Sakio Bika this weekend.
The two will meet in Ward’s hometown of Oakland, California, at the Oracle Arena in a fight featured on Showtime.
Ward, WBA super middleweight champion and leading Super Six Boxing Classic tournament participant, will defend his title but not his tournament standing, as the fight will not be part of the Super Six tournament.
According to Bika, he isn’t weary about the fight taking place on Ward’s home soil.
“It doesn’t matter where I fight because all of my career I have fought for my country and will continue to do that no matter where the fight takes place,” Bika said on boxingnews24.com.  “On November 27, I will have the WBA World Championship belt around
my waist.”
Bika is considered a very formidable super middleweight opponent, known for his aggression, hard hitting style, and willingness to do whatever it takes to come out on top.  He’s gone the distance with the likes of Lucian Bute and Joe Calzaghe, highlighting
the fact that he isn’t the kind of guy easily stopped.
Bika hopes to avenge his last fight, which he lost by disqualification for hitting opponent Jean Paul Mendy when he was down.
Oscar De la Hoya, who promotes Bika, recently said: “When we presented this fight to Sakio, he didn’t even ask where it was, all he wanted to know was how soon he could get in the ring with Ward.”
“To me, that’s the sign of a true warrior, and we have every confidence in Sakio that he’s got the style, power and determination to win the Super Middleweight World Title on November 27.”
Ward, who is undefeated in the Super Six tournament, will be the heavy favourite.  He has looked extremely impressive in his last few fights, utilizing fast combinations and even faster footwork to keep out of range.  Against Bika, one can bet he will mix
it up, but if he knows what’s good for him he won’t trade shot for shot, since that’s where he’ll be giving Bika the fighting advantage.
