Salacia set to stand first in Fillies’ Stakes
Salacia will be the protagonist at Newmarket where she is going to run in the Rossdales Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on Thursday, April 19. The high-stakes Class 4 contest over a distance of 7 furlongs will commence at 5:20 (GMT).
For the prize cheque of £4,528, the Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained bay filly will compete against Isatis, Furbelow, More Than Words, Aarti, Central Line, El Diamante, Perfect Step, Qaadira, Riot Of Colour, Shame On You, Eltiqaa, Junior Diary, Shy Rosa, Bassara,
It´s My Time, Nawarah, Anya and Indian Moon.
Salacia has delivered outstanding performances in both of the races of her career so far. The brilliant filly staged her debut on October 18, 2011 and marvellously grabbed 6th spot in her maiden race at Yarmouth track.
The enthusiastic young filly went ahead to accomplish a runner-up rank in the very next race on October 29. These two races helped the novice runner gain immense momentum which will lend a great hand to her in today’s contest.
Now, the Godolphin-owned fantastic filly is looking to break her maiden by finishing first in the Fillies’ Stakes. But she is likely to face some arduous challenges as the opposition camp contains some of the big names of the sport.
However, Salacia possesses enough potential to dominate all the hardships in pursuit of the ace title. Her chances to thrive are as high as 90 percent.
Isatis and Riot Of Colour are the runners who can cause upsets anytime during the mega marathon.
Isatis elegantly achieved a runner-up rank in the only race of her career on November 10, 2011. Sir Henry Cecil’s pupil performed confidently against 11 rivals in the race that took place at Kempton.
On the other hand, Riot Of Colour has finished 2nd each in the both the races of her career. Staging her debut on September 2, 2011, the Ralph Beckett-trained bay filly earned a favourite tag for her second and last outing.
Shame On You will also be able to perform well in the race. With two impressive performances to her name, Charles Hills’ filly also looks to be greatly confident at the moment.
In this situation, the hot favourite filly will have to fight with her back to the wall in order to keep her head high in the face of so many big adversaries. Let us see how Salacia manages to thrive. Good luck to her.
