Salacres Smooth to make Definity ineffective in A2 500m Flat at Nottingham
Salacres Smooth has a recent taste of success, and looks hungry for more. A dangerous line-up has reached Nottingham to trouble him in Tuesday’s A2 500m Flat, but we consider Definity as the only major threat.
P. Harnden’s charge is likely to tackle all the dangers, including Definity. The black dog is full of confidence after putting his journey back on the winning ways. He suffered a couple of shameful defeats in November, and his terrible journey continued the following month, as he finished fifth on December 4th.
After facing several awful losses, the dashing hound finally got his act together on December 11th, when taking the second place behind Salacres King. It was just an unlucky defeat, as he missed the top prize only by a head’s distance.
He showed further improvement after getting his act together, and produced a favourable result last time. By virtue of an excellent early pace, the son of Mineola Farloe, out of Mineola Plan, took lead at the very first bend. He stayed ahead throughout, bagging the first prize by half a length.
Having tasted success, Salacres Smooth is expected to offer more. Definity is capable of making things tricky for him, but a wide draw will surely help him take the advantage.
Definity has the speed in spades, and surely would not be far away. His current form is a massive concern though. After sharing the podium twice, the black dog failed to raise his game, and ended up fourth last time around. M. Cooper’s charge needs to show significant improvement to play a role.
Besides these two, there are four dashing hounds in the pack. Their names are: Mays Trotter, Romeo For Real, Salacres Cool, and Fire Foods Woody. The event carries a prize of £124, and will be begun at 11:19 GMT.
It is difficult to envisage Salacres Cool taking the first prize. The blue dog was awful last time. Fire Foods Woody hasn’t thought much of this grade in the past, thus the punters can afford to overlook him.
Mays Trotter attempts to bolt clear, and her claims will be enhanced if doing so. On the other hand, it is hard to get excited about Romeo For Real’s prospects here.
