Salary Details and Cost of Living in Qatar - Doha?

Hi I got an offer from a MNC company in Doha in Qatar to work as a combustion design engineer in their division. They are offering me 12000 Q.R per month, This includes accomdotation. I am married, and a kid of one year old. whether this salary was enough for a descent living with family and save some thing from my salary? Iam basically a Mechanical Engineer with 6 year of experiance....

Just to confirm, is the accomodation given on top of the 12,000?  You will spend more than 12,000  for a villa/house.  If you want an apartment it is about 10,000.  So if you are paying for accomodation out of the 12,000 I'd say NO...  

Also, it should include tickets home every 1-2 years, thats pretty standard.  How about a car allowance?  There are lots of perks about living here-- get on Qatar living and ask these questions, you will get lots of answers from people who live here...

Cost of living here has skyrocketed in the past 3 years, food prices have gone up at least 50%...  I just did a small grocery shop today for some basics (milk, juice, chicken, diapers, fruit and other msc stuff) and it cost 350QR ($100).

It all depends on how you like to live..
