Salary of an insurance agent?

Do insurance agents get no basic salary, their income all depends on the commisson they make during each sale? Do some insurance agents can never make a single sale therefore they earn nothing and are forced to resign?

  1. they are putting most of the insurance company in an offshore call center like in the philippines which i work for BLue Cross OF Ca and they all have it in the philippines....


  2. Only 2 out of 10 agents survive the first year. This is mainly due to the fact that recruiters at the career agencies will hire just about anybody. I've seen take a personality profile that says they are not well suited for sales and sure enough if they are willing they get hire and usually wash out in a few months.

  3. Insurance agents are compensated based on the commission income they generate. Oh you might see a job listing that says it is a salaried position but you will not be receiving that salary long if your commissions do not begin to equal or exceed your salary.

    It is just basic business. No one is going to pay an insurance agent more than he brings in. At least not for long.
