  1. Which Country? In the US, Major takes a tad longer than 7 years. If it happened, the base pay is 5130.30, per month... again this is in the US.


  2. Major at 7 years would have to be a very, very sharp troop.  Or a well connected one.

  3. $5130.30 is correct for monthly pay in the US, not accounting for BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing), BAS (Basic Allowance for Sustenance), and other potential sums relative to the career field (flight pay, etc.).

    It is not usual for someone to make it to Major in 7 years as it is generally expected to take two years for each rank of Lieutenant and then approximately four as a Captain, but it is possible to do and would be called making it "below the zone."
