whats the average salary to live in southern califonria comfortably? ( not the big citys like hollywood or bev hills or stuff like the the cities like pasadena arcadia monrovia and sierra madre and temple city)

To live comfortably, meaning not pay-check to pay check? This totally depends on your lifestyle.  To cover the basics I would say $40k.  This means renting a cheap, studio bedroom apartment or having a roommate, having an old car or one that you have low monthly payments on.  You would have very little money left over.

If you want a one-bedroom apartment that is a little nicer (but certainly not luxury), then I would say $60k as a minimum.  This would allow you not to live pay-check to pay-check, but, you would NOT be rolling in it either. You could cover your bills (assuming you don't have lots of expenses/debts) and have some money left over for dinners out, drinks, gym membership, entertainment, small savings, etc.  

You would not be able to buy a home unless you have about $100k to put down and earn at least $100k a year.  That is for regular, middle class neighborhoods.
