In the state of colorado there is a sales tax of 2.9% on all goods purchased. If Jan buys a television for $599, what will be the final bill, including sales tax?

can anybody help me with this problem?

  1. $599.00x.029=$17.37+$599.00=$616.37


  2. first convert your percent to a decimal (0.029) then turn it into dollars

    599.00 x .029

    then add that to your original 599.00 to get your total

    OR:

    599.00 x 1.029

    this will add it to the original amount for you.
