Sales and advertising job interview, HELP!?!?

i have no experience in the field, the interview went well, and they have asked me to do a 'shadowing shift' followed by a test on Monday.

I was wondering if there is anything i can do/ practice/ read to improve my knowlege and give me an edge and improve my chances.

Basically any advice at all would be appreciated!

(i have already researched the company and so have knowledge of their background and current turn over etc...)

  1. That interview style seems like one used by scam companies I have ran into when I was "Entry Level" - it could be coincidence but be VERY WARY and ask specific questions about compensation (ask the person you are shadowing how much they actually made last week) and promotion (turned out in the shadow interview I went on that EVERYONE was in management training)

These companies typically say they are working with Fortune 500 and are "Management Training" programs. THey are actually gigs where you walk door to door selling phone service or coupons.  Be careful.  There are plenty of legitimate jobs out there, don't get side-tracked with one of these companies.

In San Diego they became so prolific on Craigslist that the board had to start charging a fee to reduce the number of scam postings.
