Salford City Reds lose 22-30 to Leeds Rhinos: Super League Recap - Rugby

Leed Rhinos were victorious over Salford City Reds after a hard fought win of 30- 22 in a Engage Super Rugby encounter on Friday, July 29 at Willows ground.
Matt Parish, who is coaching the Reds since July 2011, has faced his first defeat as the head coach at their home ground after two weeks’ preparation time to face the Rhinos.
The initial twenty minutes of the game stayed indecisive for either side. Leeds failed to build up pressure on the home side due to the weak performance and mishandling of the ball on their part. Salfords soon geared up as a grubber kick was initiated by
Dan Holdsworth but it failed to reflect on the scoreboard because of the strong defence offered by Rhinos.
Rhinos were the first ones to contribute to the scoreboard and Jodie Broughton ricocheted the ball kicked by Stefan Ratchford. This was picked up by Kallum Watkins, who sprinted down the length of the field that was followed by a pass to Danny Buderus, who
passed the ball on to Ryan Hall. He then successfully scored a try in the corner, which was then converted by Sinfield to earn six points which were not rebutted so far from the opposition.
Just two minutes later, the scores were doubled and this contribution was made by Ryan Bailey who scored the try by breaking himself free of the tackle and Bailey’s try was converted by Sinfield, which was another straight six earned to  have 12-0 on the
score board. This attempt from Bailey was an unexpected one, as this contribution of points was made after 2007.
The turn of events during the first-half of the game convinced that Leeds will bag a smoother win against Reds but the bargain was not that easy for the visitors. Parish’s player sprung back to life during the second-half with quick exchange of passes made
between Luke Patten and Vinnie Anderson, which was finished off with grace by grounding the ball and the try was converted by Holdsworth.
However, the response from Reds was soon broken as Rob Burrow aided Brent Webb to score a try by releasing him from the tackle which  was again passed down to Sinfield for conversion, only to be missed.
The tussle was yet not over between the two sides. Reds left the scores only six points apart with the third try of the home side scored fourteen minutes away from full-time by Anderson.
It almost seemed to slip away from Leeds’ hands when Anderson again touched down but only to gift Sinfield a penalty kick.
However, towards the concluding minutes, Smith from the Rhinos scored another try which was converted successfully by Sinfield and led Jewitt of Reds to touch down again which was then converted by Holdsworth.
