Salford City Reds strengthens squad for 2012 season campaign with the addition of Jordan James – Rugby League
Manchester based English professional Rugby League club, Salford City Reds, has announced the signing of the Wales international prop Jordan James to strengthen their squad for the next season.
Officials at the club have confirmed the signing of the second row forward James, in a statement released on their website on Thursday, September 8.
Reds have acquired the services of the James from their Super Rugby rivals Crusaders. James has inked a two-year professional deal with the Reds, which will keep him at the club until the end
of the 2013 season.
Salford City Reds head coach Matt Parish, has expressed his delight on acquiring the services of the talented and experienced second row forward. He termed James addition as an important addition
for the squad.
James has expressed his delight on signing his new deal with the Reds. James is familiar to the Greater Manchester, as he previously has spent some time with the Rugby League National League
2 outfit, Swanton Lions, earlier in his career.
The Gloucester born James started his professional Rugby League senior club career with the Sheffield Eagles in 2003. During his two seasons stay at the club, he made 30 appearances for the
Eagles and scored 60 points. In 2005, he signed a two-year deal with the Castleford Tigers, in which he played 22 games for Tigers and scored nine tries.
In 2006, the 31-year-old James represented the Wigan Warriors for a short period. Later he signed for the Widness Vikings and remained there until the end of the 2007 season. At the start
of the 2008 season, he joined the Crusaders.
James made his international debut for the Wales in 2003. He so far has made 13 international appearances for the Wales and has scored 12 points.
In addition to the James, Reds have also announced the signing of the Shanna McPherson and Ben Gledhill to strengthen their squad for their 2012 Super League season.
