Salihamidzic keen on improving Wolfsburg’s poor away form
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic has stated that he is keen on improving the club’s poor away form this season. The player admitted that the team has been dismal in this campaign when they have travelled but remained
hopeful that the record will improve as the season unfolds as they are on the right track.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 are just outside the top ten in 12th place on the Bundesliga standings table and have accumulated a mere 16 points so far from 13 games. Their away form has been very disappointing as Felix Magath’s side has
won only once in seven games and suffered five losses. The record is currently the worst in the league.
Salihamidzic claimed that the next match against FC Augsburg is crucial for his side as it is an important away game. He admitted that the record has not been good but admitted that the team is keen to secure all three points in
the game and prove their doubters wrong. He stated that the Wolves will have to capitalize on the brilliant win against Hannover and go on and win against Augsburg.
“Very important. Beating Hannover won't have counted for much if we go on to lose at Augsburg. That apart, we want to start taking our bearings higher up the table. I've no desire to be faffing around at the bottom,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
The Bosnian international further added that the international break was of immense help as the team got the chance to train harder and develop a good partnership amongst them. He also praised the manager for getting the tactics
right and is confident of a good season ahead.
“It certainly helped. Even though some of the squad were away on national team duty, we were able to work on our interplay and we did a lot on the tactical front. The coach prepared us for the game very thoroughly,” he concluded.
Wolfsburg finished in 15th place last season and marginally avoided relegation. They had a busy summer transfer window but have still been unable to start the season on a high note.
