Sally needs to get carpet for two rooms of his house. Estimate the number of square feet (square footage) in the two room if one room measures 10 1/2 feet by 9 3/4 feet; and the other room measures 19 1/4 feet by 18 1/2 feet.

  1. wait. he is a MAN and his name is SALLY?!?!

If that was MY name, I could not go on in life, let alone get new carpets!

  2. Always hated those math questions. In all seriousness, if the roll of carpet you are looking at doesn't fit across the room (width of roll vs. room size) you will need to get extra carpet to compensate. Any piecing in will need to be done in the same direction as the other piece to create continuity. The nap will be going in different directions if you don't, and that would not be a good thing! Good Luck - LT
