Salman Butt claims he believed what Mazhar Majeed told him – Cricket News Update
Banned Pakistan cricketer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed due to which did not report his intentions to the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was talking to the court in London, England during the spot-fixing trial.
According to Butt, Majeed had joked to him about fixing games on a few occasions. However, he had clearly asked the agent that he did not like such jokes.

Butt further added, “He said I am your friend and I have known you many years and I am just checking if you are doing something dodgy or not. I took his word for this explanation. I didn't report it to the ICC because this is someone I had known for quite
a length of time now and he meant what he said to me in his explanation. I had worked with him a couple of years.”
The entire cricket world was shocked after several Pakistan cricketers were alleged of spot-fixing in a Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 back in 2010.

After going through the evidence, the committee found the trio guilty of planning no balls in order to earn money through fixing.
Amir, who was the youngest of the three players, was banned for five years from any form of cricket. However, Butt and Asif were given 10 and seven years bans, considering their experience in international cricket.
The ICC further mentioned that the ban on Asif and Butt could be shortened to five years each, considering their behavior during in the coming years.
However, the players were not pleased with what had happened and challenged the verdict in international courts.
