Salman Butt hopes for Pakistan return
Former Pakistan Test match captain Salman Butt says he is hoping to return to the Test team after spot-fixing allegations are investigated by the International Cricket Council this weekend.
Butt was suspended by the ICC along with two other Pakistan bowlers due to allegations that these bowlers deliberately bowled no-balls in a Test match against England over the summer.
"I hope soon the allegations and suspension will be over and I will be eligible to play again for my country.
I hope it (the chance to play for Pakistan) will come again one day, that's something I can say.
God has given me one chance and I am pretty sure he will give me another one," said Butt.
Butt is one of the best batsmen in Pakistan so there is no question over his quality. However, there will be a serious doubt over whether he can put the allegations of the past to rest.
A quality batsman
Butt is a quality batsman that would walk back into the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team if it was made possible. He can bat in any position inside the top six and can play aggressively or in a defensive role.
It's also clear that he has many ideas over how to get different players out when Pakistan is in the field. The fact he was given the captaincy proves this and it's something Pakistan has been missing
in all forms of the game.
The problem is that there will always be a question over his integrity in cricket. If he is cleared and allowed to return then there will be a huge magnifying glass on him, which will create heavy
and warranted pressure.
"I am sure that these things come up in life and you have to stand up and take them," he added.
Betting advice
It's unlikely that Butt will return to the side any time soon. If he is given a chance then he surely won't be naive enough to let it slip by. If he ever plays for Pakistan again then back him to get a
big score because he seems to have an entrenched determination.
