  1. perfect fit would be between the bottom of your chin to the tip of your nose. measure than and see how big it is. if you don't do that then just go for the 184 it should work perfect for carving but not so well with speed.

    Happy Skiing, hope this helped

  2. Someone else said to stand them next to you and the length should be between your nose and your chin. this is wrong.

My skis are up to the middle of my forehead, and for that ski, i would want them longer.  I am an advanced skier, 5'5" and 145lbs and my skis are 158cm. I demoed the fischer watea 78 167cm, they were taller than me, and I loved them, and I wouldn't want to go any shorter.

Do you mean that you are 6'4", or 6.4 feet, which is 6'5".

Since you are are shopping for the Fury, salomon's top of the line all mountain ski (the sandstorm is more off piste)  I will assume that you are at least higher intermediate to advanced, and not expert, since you are asking what length you should get.

You also have to take your weight into consideration.

My dad is an advanced skier, he is 6'3" and 220lbs.  If he were to get new skis, these would be good for him, and he would get them in the 184 length. Right now, he skis on 2000 salomon axendo 8 190cm.  They are a shaped ski, but an older technology. He went to a ski shop to get his boots fitted last week, and he told the guy the skis he had, and the guy said that the next model up would be stiffer better for his weight.  If you are heavier, go with the 184, but if you are lighter, the 177 will be good.  Considering I am a lot smaller than you, and I loved a ski in a 167 length, the 170 will be too small.  If you are 6'5" the 184s will be fine, but if you want to carve more, or aren't as advanced, or lighter, the 177s will be good.

If you weigh more than 200-210lbs, get the 184, especially if you like to ski off-piste, but not if you aren't an advanced skier.

If you weigh less or not as advanced, get the 177.

If you like high speeds, get the 184

  3. The length you decide to buy should be based off your skiing ability more than your height and weight. Considering you are a fairly tall person your probably will find balance easier on a longer ski. If you are an excellent skier hit up the 184 cm because you will be able to ski them no problem. The 170 & 177 should ski similar to one another and you should consider them if you are going to be skiing mostly groomers.

If there is any way you can demo these sizes then thats how you should do it. Otherwise make the decision based on your ability.

  4. Get either the 177 or 184's - They wont feel any different between those two sizes. I'm pretty sure that you could try one of them without being told what size it is, then try the other and not be able to tell the difference betweent hem.

You would be able to between the 170 and the 184 however, but because yoru tall the 177 or 184 would both work for you.

Unless you want to do A LOT of park skiing.  then go for either the 177 or the 170.  for park, shorter = better,

  5. if it fits good buy it or adjust as needed
