Question:

Salt Circles and Weird Activity?

by  |  earlier

When I was younger, I remember my mother sprinkling salt around me in circles, and I really don't remember why. She was, as someone people would call a 'white witch'. However, she died when I was eight, so this question remains unanswered. I've learnt that it means to ward off evil? But I still don't know why, could I have done something wrong? Or is it a normal activity?

Also, my T.V has recently started to turn itself on and off in the middle of the night, not onto an actual channel, just fuzz, flashing and weird noises, however I daren't look. This has happened in the past, but it's only started happening lately. Other T.V's in the house also had a habit of turning off every time I look away. Things also go missing regularly. All this stopped for awhile, but just seems to be happening again and I'm getting pretty much freaked about it. I'm trying to remain sceptical about it. Can anyone explain what's happening?

Thanks so much for any answers, it's much appreciated. :-)

  1. As a pagan, yes the salt was for protection from anything negative around you. I find it a bit messy and it sticks in all the cracks. Personally I prefer to burn sage and let the smoke cleanse the energy.

With the TVs, a logical answer may be that it is the result of some other remote in the area affecting your set.

If you think there may be something to do with spirits in your house, talk with them. Treat them as you would a friend. If you get a negative response, and cannot get anywhere with the salt or sage, see if you can find a shaman or possibly contact a pagan group for assistance. They may know someone who has experience in these matters. I personally know a shaman that has done several energy cleanings and from what I have heard from the people, is effective. Avoid psychics and the like that offer to remove the spirit at the same time they remove your wallet, most are charlatans.

  2. Your mother was superstitious.  She believed that by pouring salt on the ground can affect the behavior of supernatural beings.  She bought into some sort of magical mythology.

As far as the TV goes, if you daren't look then you won't figure anything out.  Whatever happened to curiosity?  Would you rather be ruled by superstition than learn about and take control of the world around you?  Get tough and investigate!

  3. No worries, you didn't do anything wrong. Using salt is a popular choice for personal protection. The belief is that the salt transmutes negative energy to positive, and also repells negative entities. I would guess that your mom was doing this to protect you because she loves you so much, not because you did anything wrong.

The TV thing is quite interesting. It could be a lot of different reasons. It could be a loose connection, or energy surge. I had a similar thing happen a few years ago. It turned out that the people who lived in the house behind mine had the exact same signal. So their remote control was bouncing off their walls, through the window and into my window and hitting my TV. What a fluke eh? It sure did freak me out though. Once it was figured out, I turned the TV to face the away from the window and it never happened again.

Some people think that it may be spirits causing it - and while I agree that spirits can often manipulate electrical items, there is an easy way to test that. Simply unplug the TV. if it still comes on then you have your answer.

    I hope that helps. :).

  4. Your mother was preparing your body to accept her soul.  Beware her soul trying to take you over.  You must keep your psi alert on at all times.  All power to the psi lord.

  5. sorry for your mom dying maybe she was just taking precaution for you it might be her trying to speak to you through the tv the next time it happens talk outloud to her to see if anything else happens dont worry if its not your mom she wouldnt let a bad spirit cause u harm

  6. I'm sorry that your mom died. Unfortunately she was involved in the occult and that is why I think these weird things are happening with the television. When somebody is involved in the occult it attracts demonic spirits and demons are very evil creatures. The thing I would advice you to do is to pray asking Jesus Christ to forgive your family for going into the occult and ask him to completely cleanse you from the occult. Then pray and ask Jesus christ to protect you and your family and whenever you hear these weird things rebuke the demons causing it stating I command you to leave me, my family and my house in the name of Jesus Christ. If you are living in the same house where your mom lived in as well you will need a pastor to come and bless your house. This is because when somebody practices the occult in a particular place the demon feels that they own that particular propriety and as a result doesn't want to leave.

  7. maybe your mom is trying to tell you something that's why the tv keeps coming on and off. and the salt thing can just be for protection it is normal for a wiccan to do.

  8. Have you tried talking to your mom? There is nothing wrong with trying to talk to her. Even if you can't hear her talk back. But some would agree that "talking" to the deceased can have some therapeutic value. Perhaps that would also resolve the strange happenings?

As far as whats going on with your TVs I'm no electrician, but two things come to mind. First one of my TVs, whenever there is a power outage turns on by itself when the power comes back on. Some how the power surge from the electricity triggers the TV to turn on. Second it could just be the wiring in the house or place you live. If its particularly old or has faulty wiring, that might explain why more than one TV set would randomly activate.

But in all fairness, maybe there is something going on. I would have an electrician check out the wiring though because you don't want anything hazzardous to go unchecked. If that person fixes anything (if anything at all) and you still have strange things going on, thats pretty interesting and may indicate something paranormal.

And losing random things? I do it all the time - be it car keys, wallet, cell phone, remote control (that one drives me nuts! - I hate commercials!) and so forth I just tend to misplace things. So that is probably just part of your personality, nothing super natural.

  9. spreading salt in a circle would protect what was within the circle.  spreading it along the window ledges and doors will protect the house, along with the burning of sage (some call it smudging) throughout the house.  I have used both and other things as well in a house cleansing ritual, but I am neither pagan nor white witch.

  10. Maybe there is a short circuit in your wires have a electrician to check it out!

sorry but I don't believe in ghost but I have heard of sprinkle salt around you to ward of evil!

  11. Salt wards off evil and especially if you are being possessed by evil. I heard of one witch who took a salt bath becuase she felt like satan was trying to possess her.

Things still go missing in my house, but I dissassociate and my other personaities do not tell me were they put the object.

I have no answer for your T.V.

  12. Maybe there is a fault in your television set or perhaps your remote control. The logical place here to ask about electrical equipment is > Consumer Electronics > TVs.

Sprinkling salt on your carpet supposedly kills fleas but I suppose you are hoping for a more mystical type of answer.

  13. Hello girl ¡ Sorry about your mom.

Well, in my logic side, the noises are very normal , but in the nigth, when everything is calm and quiet, we hear it much louder or we got a conscience about them.

Now, in my other part, there is too much coincidence that a TV turn on by itself so many times, may be is a poltergeist.

The salt is used to get away some demons and bad spirits,

I dont think its your mom trying to comunicate with you .

I recommend you to calm down and try to investigate the causes of it and then you can ask them what they want.

    good luck ¡
