Salt Lake City confirmed for 2012 USAV Open National Championships – Volleyball news
The USA Volleyball (USAV) has announced that the 2012 USA Volleyball Open National Championships will be held in Salt Lake City from May 26 to June 2, 2012. The USAV publicized the news on Tuesday afternoon, May 25 at the annual meeting of the USA Volleyball
Assembly in Dallas. The hosts of the 2012 USAV Open National Championships include USAV, the Salt Lake City Convention Visitors Bureau and the Utah Sports Commission.
More than 550 teams from all across the United States will make their way to Salt Lake City, in order to participate in the 2012 USA Volleyball Open National Championships. Around 6,000 aspiring athletes will get a chance to showcase their talent in front
of a large audience from all over the country. The turnout is also expected to give a large economic boost to the city. With a slow economy, cities like Salt Lake are happy to host events that will bring in cash to the local economy. Reports suggest that the
event will bring in 16 to 18 million dollars worth of business for the state and city.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Utah Sport Commission, Jeff Robins, expressed his delight at the decision made by USA Volleyball. He stated, “We are excited to host USA Volleyball, a key partner of ours as we continue to diversify into both
winter and summer Olympic Legacy relationships. This will be the fifth USA Volleyball national championship the State of Utah has hosted since 2001 and the 2012 USA Volleyball Open National Championships will bring significant exposure and economic impact
to Utah.”
The 2011 edition of the USA Volleyball Open National Championships will be staged at the Dallas Convention Centre from May 28 to June 4. This is a great tradition, which has been carried out by the USA Volleyball since its formation in 1928. This is considered
one of the largest national championships in the United States for any discipline of sport. This year will be the 82nd edition of USAV National Volleyball Championships, while the 83rd edition will be hosted by Salt Lake City next year.
The Senior Director of USA Volleyball (USAV) Tom Pingel said that Salt Lake City has been the host of many important USA Volleyball Events in the past. They have always maintained a very good reputation in terms of facilitating the teams and spectators.
The delivery of better services has tempted the USAV to select Salt Lake City for the influential 2012 USA Volleyball Open National Championships. USAV has high hopes that it will be a successful in bringing the Open National campaign to Salt Lake City.
