  1. with all the salt in all the oceans we will never have to worry about running out of salt. that's how we get a lot of our salt right now. they make enormous pools of ocean water and let it dry. viola, salt.

Yes, and no.  The requirement of a renewable resource is basically if it is being naturally produced faster than it is being consumed.  So the answer can differ in different areas or with major changes in conservation.  Salt is collected in bodies of water from erosion.  In the Great Salt Lake, Dead Sea, and the connected oceans, we have pretty much an inexhaustible supply so in most societies today, salt is a renewable resource.  One way to check this is to see how long the resource has been used (thousands of years, Genesis chapter 19, Holy Bible) and look for any resulting shortages (none).

  3. i know if you boil salt water, the water will evaporate but the salt will still be there.  try it!

  4. Salt is a mineral, so no, it's not renewable. It is highly plentiful so we shouldn't be in danger of running out any time soon.
