  1. I'm not sure what you want. If you need current water speed and depth you can call SRR(Salt River Recreation). If you mean in general, you can enter the water just below Saguaro Lake off of Bush Highway and tube to where the Salt and Gila meet. That's a looooooong trip(6-9 hrs). There are multiple entry points and I usually go Saguaro to Coon's Bluff(stop #4)-its 4-5 hours and the parking lot at Coon's is pretty big. The river itself has a few eddy points but as long as you stay away from the sides when the current is strong they are easily avoided. The river itself varies along the way with sections of shallows down to 6 inches deep and wide, deep parts where you can bail out of your tube and swim for a while. SRR offers bus rides and tube rentals for a slight fee. Bring suntan lotion and H2O as the reflected sunlight causes severe burns if you don't protect yourself-I have scars to prove it.
