  1. Ya i agree with the last guys, most of the fish get to big although you could get some that would work in a 30. Plus the salt water is a pain to get to the right level. Either you buy it at a pet store for some crazy price or you find yourself fillin up your bath tub once a week and mixing it till it has the right salt level. All in all its more work so unless you realy want to get into it and lose alot of time and money its just not worth it. How much would it cost without fish ? Your best bet would be to check craigs list first to see if you can get some good deals on a used saltwater tank vs buying new. Your prob looking at about 400 bucks new and alot less used but still around 200 ballpark. Hope this helpd and Good Luck

  2. 30 gallons theres not many fish that can go in there and you have to spend loads and loads of money on salt and water treatment and u need NO CHLORINE in the water or ur askin for exspencive fish to die so plz reconsider and maybe do some research before asking about this agian sory to say this but its the truth u need to know every little detail and u must test the water and cycle it with a feww cheap goldfish before adding the salt then u can do all the ph and other stuff having a salwater tank is incredbly hard especially if u donot have much TIME AND MONEY ON UR HANDS thanks for reading  :]

  3. I've looked up a lot of things on setting-up and maintaining a saltwater aquarium, and it is hard work.

First off, the tank must cycle for 6+ weeks, and parameters must never fluctuate outside of borders.

Second, these fish are so sensitive, temperature drops between 2-3 degrees will most likely kill them. Not only temperature but salinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.

So overall, I'd say only go into it if your ready for a ton of hard work. I personally don't think it's completely worth it besides beautiful fish. However if you decide that you'd like to go through with it, check out http://liveaquaria.com/PIC/article.cfm?a...

  4. EVERYTHING about a saltwater aquarium is expensive and time consuming...pass.
