  1. I've caught both flounder and stripers using regular earthworms I dug out of my garden, so they do work. Most folks recommend using sandworms or bloodworms for saltwater fish, though I personally haven't used worms often enough to tell if there's a difference.

  2. Sure Can.   I have even used the rubber worm that one uses in lakes out at Catalina Island in Southern California for nice Calico Bass while at the mooring.  The bass see the action and go for it.

Thanks for the reminder to get a few in the tackle box.  There is a Calico Bass Tournament this weekend at Cat Harbor.  It is a benefit for the kids in the Little Red School House at Two Harbors.  One of the last one room school houses still in operation here.

I like the Worm that is pre-rigged with the spinner/flasher just in front of the worm.  Some beads and stiff wire up in front.  If need be you can add a crimp on weight to get casting distance and make it sink out better.  That will also give it up and down action.  Great for on a pier.

Put that together with a bit of Fluorocarbon  to make it hard for the fish to see the line and you got a killer set-up to get some bass and other carnivores of the deep.

    Good Luck and Tight Lines.

  3. you can use blood worms and you can catch saltwater fish. You can try earthworms but I reccomend blood worms.

  4. As a child, growing up on the ICW in North Fla we occasionally used a couple juicy earthworms as bait.

    The problem?

General Pinfish/Croaker/Mullet will eat the worms quicker than a "gamefish" like a Redfish, Spec Trout, Flounder, Etc.

Your "best bet" for tasty gamefish would be Finger Mullet, Shrimp, or Menhaden/Pogy.

    Good luck!
