Salty licorice?

I just moved to the states from Europe and i'm going crazy about the fact that i cannot find any salty licorice anywhere, the only thing ive found so far is that red licorice, and it's nasty cause its too sweet.

does anyone know where i can get some SALTY licorice? Im going nuts, (even if i have to buy it online, i will)

  1. My husband gets various salty REAL licorices at Dutch stores. The red stuff is NOT licorice.

  2. my hubby's swedish and we buy salt licorice from ebay! they have a few different varieties. or when we go to ikea we stock up then. id say ebay's ur best bet!

  3. Look for the black kind. That is about as close as you'll get. American style anyway.

  4. Ikea in the US sells it.

    There are two things I'll never eat again:

    1. Durian fruit (taste like onion flavoured ice cream)

    2. Salty Licorice (tastes like rotten car tyres)

  5. Salty licorice is not readily available in the rest of the world, although the Sweden-based furniture chain IKEA sells it among their small assortment of typical Swedish food products. It is also sold at ethnic food stores, specialty candy stores and by mail order in the U.S.

    Best bet would be mail order - see link for one such place
