Salty water as fuel?

there was a guy that made salty water into a fuel a couple of weeks ago. wat happened to that? y isnt the govt forcing auto makers to make all their cars work with salty water???? does it have anything to do with oil companies having close ties with the govt???

It's probably because the salty water thing hasn't been shown to be workable (nor am I expecting it to be).

I thought this piece of garbage died a natural death weeks ago.  I suggest you go back and look at the discussion back then.  

But, in a nutshell.  This was just another way to dissassociate water into hydrogen and oxygen and then burn the hydrogen.  This always requires an energy input, in this case radio frequency energy, and the energy input will always be greater than the energy obtained from burning the hydrogen (second law of thermodynamics).

You need to forget the conspiracy theory stuff if you want to remain credible to anyone with half a brain.

As stated in other responses, the device is just separating the hydrogen and oxygen in the water, and burning the hydrogen gas. The salt just adds color so you can see the flame.

Burning hydrogen produces water, so you're starting and ending with the same material, which containins the same amount of energy in its chemical bonds. Thus water is not a "fuel" but really just carries the energy imparted by the device for a short period of time.

The problem is, you lose energy along the way because the process isn't 100% efficient. If you could just "break even" - You'd have a perpetual motion machine!

In reality, the device will always consume more power (for splitting water) than it will generate.

If you run electricity through salty water, you get hydrogen and oxygen. It's impractical though.

Give up the idea that the "big oil companies"  have a hold on the government.

I think it's more that they have just discovered that it is possible to make saltwater burn a flame when exposed to radio waves.

They still have a long ways to go to figure how to apply this knowledge into practical marketplace applications.
