Salut Honore, the six-year-old gelding raced as a favourite in the Wisedale Brothers Handicap Chase with odds of 5 to 2 at Uttoxeter on 28th January, 2012.
The Alex Hales trained runner was coupled with jockey, Campbell Gillies. Under his guidance, he ran well and claimed the victory, 8 large lengths ahead of Ruby Bay.
Owned by the Hexagon Racing Partnership, the son of Lost World, out of mare Kadalkote, unseated his rider in the race that followed. He was paired up with Gillies again in the BetVictor.com Handicap Chase at Ayr on 14th February,
2012.
Under the same jockey, his start in the JP Morgan Novices' Handicap Chase at Catterick on 7th March, 2012 was successful. He raced with the odds of 13 to 2, and narrowly bagged the victory, 1 ½ lengths ahead of Brokethegate.
River D’Or, trained by Sophie Leech for owners G.Doel and C.J. Leech, may be a hindrance in Salut Honore’s way to victory today. The son of Saint Preuil, out of mare Une Pomme D´Or, delivered an impressive finish in his seasonal debut.
He finished as the runner-up in the Wakefield Beginners' Chase at Catterick on 12th January, 2012, where he was the mount for Dougie Costello.

The seven-year-old gelding finished in fourth place in his most recent start at Newton Abbot on 18th March, 2012. He was teamed with Costello again, and under his control, he successfully tracked the leader and gained pace,
but showed signs of weakness towards the end of the Winning Post Restaurant Novices' Chase.
Salut Honore is the one with the rising popularity in the market. It is speculated that he will triumph today, unthreatened by the other runners. River D’Or is likely to finish in as a runner-up closely behind him.
