Real Betis midfielder, Salva Sevilla, is not enjoying the best start to league campaign. With seven fixtures into the campaign, the 28-year-old is not enjoying the plans he had set for himself.
Matters took the turn for the worst, after Los Verdiblancos communicated that their unwillingness to let him leave without a financial offer on the board, while Pepe Mel has conveyed that he remains a major player for them.
The Almeria born player is today the only player in the dressing room to be collecting his pay cheques without appearing in any one of the competitive fixtures. However, first team minutes are around the corner for the former Salamanca player.
Benat’s untimely absence for Real Betis’ trip to Pamplona has opened first team doors for squad players like Salva Sevilla. With Pepe Mel using the international break for finding an able midfield partnership, the wait for first team minutes in the 2012/13
La Liga season is coming to an end.
Ruben Perez and Canas are ahead of the 28-year-old in the pecking order, leaving room for opportunity. There are still many training sessions between now and the scheduled October 21st due date, but it looks likely that Salva’s is in a ‘now or
never’ situation.
With Benat’s contract renewal taking more time than Real Betis would have hoped for, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 Mel cannot lose out on a player who was integral in their return to La Liga action.
Regarding Benat, no agreement has been reached yet but both sides are working in close proximity to reach a situation, sooner rather than later. The influential midfielder has himself left the door open for a future move, claiming anything is possible in
the future.
The Spanish international acknowledged reports in the media, whilst admitting that he is calm regarding his future. He stated that he is happy at Benito Villamarin, praising Los Verdiblancos fans for the affections they have showered on him.
"They are talking about but my agent has not told me anything. You have to be calm and wait for agreement. I'm very happy here, both with people and in the club and I would not mind to continue."
"Not that I know what there in summer with Athletic almost all rumours were. People can say many things but ultimately decide the club and the coach (Bielsa) and decided that no."
