Question:

Salvation Army or the Library?

I have boxes and boxes of books in great, almost new condition and I'm wondering what I should do with them. I'm think give them either to the Salvation Army or the Library. 80% of the books are on the topic of Christian theology and spirituality, the rest are mostly biographies or other nonfiction. No children's books.

What should I do with them? Where should I donate them?

  1. The Salvation Army.

They actually do some good for a Christian organisation.  And they'll be able to sell those books to continue doing more good.

The library on the other hand, will sell them too.  As most books donated don't make it to the shelves anyway.

  2. The library won't want them, they buy their books new, unless they're an antiquities library (and they don't usually go for books that have been out for awhile).  Donate them to Salvation army, or maybe a church or convent or someplace like that may want them.  You might even try a seminary for the religious books.  I sell my books on eBay, half.com and amazon.com.

  3. I would love to have some of your prophecy books if you still have them.  E-mail me and we can make some arrangements, and I  can give you my address.

  4. The "Christian" books would ,probably, not make it to the shelves of most "libraries"... give them to a Christian Charity that might have a Yard sale or something... mostly the Salvation Army stores would not be able to sell them... give the others to the SA though as they could sell them.
