The Italian international has praised his team’s performance following a victory against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in the Champions League Group ‘A’ encounter, as les Parisiens topped the table with 15 points.
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Sirigu-c32282, felt ecstatic following his team’s victory against Portuguese giants, FC Porto, in the Champions League fixture. The Italian described les Parisiens’ campaign as a superb performance, and felt that the French
outfit can go all the way.
The fixture was a tightly-contested encounter between the two sides, with both clubs aiming for the win.  Les Parisiens were able to avenge their defeat, as they managed to win 2-1 against the visitors, at the Parc des Princes.
The Italian goalkeeper, Salvatore Sirigu, described PSG’s European campaign as a superb performance, after the Paris-based club ensured themselves a position at the top of their group. The goalkeeper was among those players who have performed well in the
competition so far, and are confident that they can continue their current form.
The goalkeeper praised his team-mates, and felt happy about the way his team played. He said:
“We are happy to be top and we are happy with the way we played.”
The former Palermo player believes that although maintaining such a momentum in the Champions League is not an easy task, the Paris-based club has been able to perform well in the competition. The Italian explained:
“Getting 15 points and winning nearly every game is a superb performance. It is definitely important for our confidence.”
Despite PSG’s dominance in the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have not been able to show the same level of determination in the Ligue 1, where they has been a victim of poor results. Les Parisiens are believed to lack enthusiasm in the domestic
competition, while appearing to be an entirely different team while playing in Europe. Sirigu, however, begs to differ, the goalkeeper said:
“We are the same team in Ligue 1 as in the UEFA Champions League. I do not think we have two different faces. It is just that our results in the two competitions are different at the moment.”
Paris Saint-Germain have topped the table with 15 points, closely followed by FC Porto, who have 13 points. Both teams would be playing in the knock out phase of the tournament. Meanwhile, Dynamo Kiev secured 5 points in the group phase, and would be competing
in the Europa League. Dinamo Zagreb, however, are eliminated from the competition altogether.
