While talking to media, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Salvatore Sirigu spoke about his adaptation at Parc des Princes. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 international also spoke about his feelings for the City of Light in an interview Extra Time
On a Sunday night (February 19, 2012) against Montpellier Herault (2-2, round 24 of Ligue 1), Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Sirigu-c32282 once again confirmed that he could be the goalkeeper for PSG for years to come.
His talent has always been undeniable but he arrived at PSG as a relatively unknown quantity. In a matter of few weeks, the Italian won over fans and neutrals alike with some truly breathtaking saves that even the likes of Lev Yashin or Gigi Buffon would
be proud of.
While talking to the media, the Italian made a few confessions that few people knew about. The youngster joined from Palermo but revealed that he did not ask the club to sell him.
“If it had been up to me, I would have never left Palermo. I was pushed out,” confessed the Italian before adding that he never thought about money and wanted to do another season at the club in order to prove his worth to the Serie A side.
Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini once called the goalkeeper “a very important man” but must be biting his tongue considering how well Sirigu has done for the Ligue 1 giants.
However, Sirigu has no regrets about making a move to PSG and says that he is loving his time at Ile.
“Leonardo made me realise that I was really wanted. Here in Paris, I am only the hero of Sunday and after that, I am left alone, in short, there is less pressure than in the Italian championship. In Paris, I enjoy a lot more and I’ve improved my game in
terms of concentration.”
Paris Saint-Germain have certainly found one of the best keepers in the game in Sirigu and Carlo Ancelotti and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 would be looking to hold on to the stalwart for a long time and make sure that he is wanted at the club.
Palermo’s loss has become PSG’s gain and the trend could continue if Sirigu remains happy with where he is.
