West Ham United manager, Sam Allardyce has admitted that he is quite happy with the way his team beat QPR last night, but he feels that they could have scored a few more goals early on, and killed the game before it even came to an end.
In the first half, Matt Jarvis and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Vaz Te went on to score for West Ham, as they gave the visiting side an early lead. However, a goal from Adel Taarbt saw the game come close in the second half.
Despite the effort from the Moroccan international, QPR couldn’t score another goal in the game, and at the end of the ninety minutes, it was the Hammers who walked away with all three points.
Allardyce is quite happy with the way his side took to the game, and he thinks that they did most of the talking during the match. However, he still feels like there was a lot of room for improvement in the team and the way they were playing, had they managed
to keep their focus over the course of the entire match.
"We showed two sides of our team," Allardyce said. "The one side was the great first half we gave and completely dominated the opposition on their own ground.”
He then went on to add: "Let's face it it could have been more than 2-0 at half-time.”
"Adel Taarabt's brilliant strike to make it 2-1 was a worry for us because it lifted the crowd and their players and then we had to show the other side of our character which is good honest hard work and defending."
The QPR boss, Mark Hughes feels that his side had a very forgettable first half performance, and wants the team to pick their form up in the near future, or they could find life very hard in the league.
Hughes said: "We were very poor, certainly in the first half where we were second to every ball and didn't get anywhere near to the level we need to be at to get results in the Premier League.”
It is now going to be interesting to see just how the two teams perform over the coming weekend, given their displays last night.
