  1. I have met Sam, first time for me at the Footy Show in 1995. Eddie was talking to me on camera and I was answering a question, Sammy spoke at the same time I did.

After the show, Sam apologized for talking when I was, I told him it was no big deal.

Sam's persona on radio and television is all an act. He is really a great bloke.

I hope he is all right, not because he is a Geelong man or was nice to me off camera on the Footy Show. Cancer is a bad thing and should not be the plight for anybody.

  2. well done all who has answered this question a lot of members have given Sam a hard time over the footy show antics and some of them are well deserved,  Lets hope Sam is ok with this and soon gets back to his  smart a...e acts on the show.

  3. Not my favourite person but you're right.  It's mostly confined to guys over 45 though.

  4. Not the most popular guy with a lot of people but this is a dreadful thing for anyone to have to face.

Please let other guys take a lesson from it and get themselves tested, and check themselves regularly. Or get someone you care about who cares for you to do so!

Get well Sam, it wouldn't be the same sexist racist ageist snobbish, but otherwise politically correct, Footy Show without ya.

  5. Sammie will be fine. Its the waiting that pulls a person down.

    Everyone will be praying.

  6. Although I am not a fan of Sam Newman, I think he's a self absorbed wanker, this is a terrible tragedy for both him and his family.

I hope he overcomes it with surgery and treatment.

  7. call me a monster, but if anyone had to be hit with cancer, im not that sad it was him

...but i do agree with you about raising awareness

  8. Oh thats so sad :(

He may not be the nicest person in Melbourne but NOONE deserves cancer - and who ever says he deserves it is a monster (answerer #1).

I really hope that he gets well and beats his illness..

  9. i dont care what anyone else says about Sam, he was a great sportsman, who says it like it is and calls a spade a spade, and like everyone, does not deserve to be cut down by this mongrel disease!! Get well Sammy we need people like you around to tell the do-gooders how it really is!!

  10. Up here in the States it's very well known, a simple bloodtest will tell you,    yes a simple BLOOD TEST will tell you if you are ok or not     I'm pretty sure Newman is feeling mighty low now, who know's does any one know how bad he is?

  11. I'm a little shock that this happended. Yes shocked indeed. I hope Sam will be fine. Best wishes are from me xoxo.

  12. Hope he is ok and he gets better soon

  13. ozzy its a publicity stunt to get ratings for the footy show

  14. lets hope the old boy gets better

  15. My first reaction was OMG, bullsh*t. But then I watched it on ACA, its unbelievable. I am quite saddened by this news, because I know 2 good mates who now have prostate cancer at the age of 42 and 54. It really brings me down to earth.

Oh.....Broooooce. You crack me up. Do you have any feelings at all?Lol
