Sam Northeast’s ton guides Kent to a strong position against Loughborough MCCU

Northeast’s innings was the highlight of the day, as he was in mesmerising touch. The stylish right-handed batsman scored 176 runs off just 198 balls with the help of 23 fours and two towering sixes. His valiant knock finally came to an end, when he was
attempting an aggressive shot against the bowler.
However, the good work for Kent was continued by middle-order batsman, James Goodman, who scored 56 runs before getting out. The hosts reached 450 runs at a run-rate of 4.81 and the innings was declared.
The Loughborough MCCU bowlers were smashed to all parts of the park and they didn’t have much assistance off the wicket. However, Oliver Wilkin bowled well for his side, taking two wickets.
