  1. that was shocked me.... moya loose to querry... moya best in clay but was defeated by an American..... seppi and gasquet are not good in clay.... next, more challenging for him.... congrats Sam...

  2. no, still i think blake, fish, and roddick r better than him on clay

  3. The reasons he had the result above because he ate the wrong foods before he played.

  4. mmmmmmmm, i don't think so...

  5. Sam is warming up with Djoko right now, (4/25/08) and the expression on his face seems shakey. I don't see a strong expression. Hope he focuses and pulls out his best to give us a tough show.

  6. I think that Sam is the next big thing from America, but I don't think he has the potential to become the next big thing world wide.

He recently won his first title, and has had his best results this year and should still improve as the year goes on.  His game is built for grass though, and he has been handed a few easy matches in this tournament.  Moya was a good first round win, but he's getting older and not going to be around the sport for much longer.  Seppi is a low level player, and Querry should have won a little easier.  And finally, against Gasquet, Querry was let off the hook by Gasquet's struggling play.

Querry will be a star, but not the next big clay court player.

  7. Not really

  8. um...no!!!!

Today he benefited ALOT from Gasquet's complete mental breakdown but he still has a  long way to go on clay.

  9. I think Querrey has a better chance to be the next great American claycourter than any other American right now. This was one of the most impressive showings on European clay by an American in a long time.

Moya is a former French Open champ, Gasquet beat Federer on clay, and Seppi almost beat Federer here last year. These are very capable guys on the dirt.

I was impressed how he played Gasquet, he really took it to him. Gasquet didn't just breakdown for no reason. It was Querrey's oppressive play that caused him to implode.

It's too bad he has to play Djokovic next. Djokovic is tough for anyone on any surface.

  10. No, at least not in the same league as Michael Chang, Jim Courier, or Andre Agassi, who are all French Open champions.  I think Querrey has had a great run in Monte Carlo, and more power to him for beating the likes of Moya and Gasquet, but he'll lose to Djokovic.
