Sam Stout to co-headline UFC on FX4: Maynard vs. Guida pay-per-view against Spencer Fisher – UFC News
Sam Stout, the surging Canadian lightweight mixed martial artist, will take on his arch rival Spencer William Fisher, in a three-round non-title bout on ‘UFC on FX 4: Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida’ pay-per-view.
The duo will co-headline Ultimate Fighting Championship’s fourth FX episode and will meet for the third time. The showdown is being headlined by the non-title much anticipated bout between Clay Guida and Gray Maynard.
The octagon for the showdown will be set up at Revel Casino situated in Atlantic City, New Jersey and will be televised live on June 22, 2012. Sam and Spencer share quite an exciting rather impressive history and this time will enter in a rubber match.
The duo has won one bout each in their last two encounters and therefore the third Friday night clash will finally decide as to who is the best between the two. Stout, 28, is an emerging Canadian brawler who has been in a total of 25 mixed martial art bouts.
The Ontario proud is widely known as a knockout specialist and has pinned nine of his opponents by sheer knockout. Also known as ‘Hands of Stone’, Sam boasts 17 wins in his resume and is coming from a unanimous decision loss to Thiago Tavares.
Sam and Spencer recently shared their thoughts about their upcoming clash. Sam, while putting forth his feelings commented that he is excited at generating a trilogy which will be remembered by the UFC fans for a pretty long time.
Stout stated, “I’m very excited about this fight. I like the fact there’s someone in my career that fans will look back and say ‘those Stout v Fisher fights were awesome’. Obviously, I want to be the winner of the trilogy.”
Sam further added that if the bout is an explosive one just like the last two engagements, he will definitely move up in the rankings. Stout stated, “If this fight is as good as the first two then I think the win takes me up the rankings quite a bit.”
Spencer, on the other hand, also has almost the same view point and stated, “Whenever me and Sam Stout fight, the fans will get to see something a little special. We’ve just got two styles that make for great fights, it’s a little bit of magic, two very
technical strikers who came to have a war.”
Fisher, 36, is entering the ring with more experience in his gear. Also known as ‘The King’, Spencer has been in a total of 32 mixed martial art bouts and emerged victorious in 24.
The Iowa proud is currently going through a bit tough phase of his career as he has collected four losses and just one win in his last five brawls. One thing is for sure that the bout will be worth-watching as both men have already built themselves quite
a reputation for putting forth an explosive and exciting showdown.
