  1. <<<huge cubs fan but id rather see him in the bullpen i understand marquis is struggling but our other 4 starters are good and samarjiza is a good bullpen arm so howry doesnt have to pitch as often if you keep him in bullpen with marmol and wood itd be strong.

But it would indeed be an exciting thing to watch. not for it though.

  2. I'm not a Cubs fan at all, but I'm from the area (no, not a White Sox fan either). I think it's a bad idea to start him. He's doing well (better than I expected) as a reliever...why take the chance of throwing a kink in his development?  Marshall and Marquis are both more than adequate...and it's not like they'd be getting Jeff ready to be in the playoff rotation (if they get there).  He's young and still slightly raw...keep him in the bullpen.

  3. Well, Samardzija reminds me of Joba. The Cubs might want to keep him in the bullpen for this year, and then convert him to a starter.

I'm sort of a Cubs fan, I'm def. rooting for them in the playoffs. My ******* teams not gonna be in it!

  4. Yeah, I'd love to see him start. He has starting potential and the only way we'll see if he's good at it is if he plays!!!

    GO CUBS!!!!!

  5. I'm a White Sox fan, but I'm excited to see him pitch. I've been waiting to see him start ever since I heard he was going to play pro baseball. I want to see him start, because I've seen his nasty stuff in the bullpen and want to see it in the rotation.

  6. Marshall and Marquis are just taking up room on the roster and the payroll...

He should be a positive sign for the Cubs, but I can see him struggling here and there with the fundamental mistakes. They should just use 'em in the 'pen.

  7. He'll get rocked past the 3rd inning

  8. I would give him a shot. Almost nothing to lose by trying it. He was after all drafted to be a starter. I unlike most think Marquis is a pretty good #5 starter. But Jeff is probably going to get the chance to fill that roll next year anyway with it being Marquis' last year of his contract. If he could be as effective as Marquis the Cubs could possibly trade him and cut payroll since Samardzija is still low paid.

  9. I really would like to see Jeff get a start, but Marquis is throwing fine today. Being a Cubs fan, the bullpen can be scary at times. He's been a great addition to a hurting bullpen.

  10. I say do not disrupt his routine at this point, he is pitching well out of the pen and you have been getting by with Marquis and Marshall so far so why not stick to what has gotten you this far.
