Reports in French media claim that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 are still far away from signing Nancy Lorraine midfielder Samba Diakite this January despite the youngster’s keenness on signing for the Rhone giants
“If I have to ignore the CAN to be able to sign for Lyon, I am ready to do so,” were the words of Mali international Samba Diakite who is currently under contract at beleaguered Ligue 1 side Nancy Lorraine.
The 22-year-old has been under the radar of Les Gones for quite some time but the Rhone giants have proven to be way to slow in their dealing this January. Remi Garde is an avid admirer of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mali-c2951 international but knows that he will have to be patient
in order to sign the talented midfielder.
The youngster’s keenness to miss out the African Cup of Nations in order to sort out a transfer to Lyon has been met with bitterness by Mali football federation and Nancy coach Alain Giresse.
While talking to the media, Giresse said that if a player has made a decision to leave and then further asks to be released, become pretty indecent which means that Les Aiglons are certainly not impressed with the way Diakite has dealt with the transfer
rumours.
This simply means that Les Gones will have to be patient with the player’s club. However, in the wake of Mali’s early departure, Lyon might be able to sign the player. Currently, Lyon have not made a single signing this winter despite Garde’s claims of the
squad’s lack of depth.
UAE international, Hamdan Al-Kamali has also been linked with a move to Stade de Gerland but Lyon have not yet made up their minds on making a move for the 22-year-old. The defender, just like Diakite is desperate to join Lyon and is even willing to face
the wrath of UAE football federation in order to sign for the Ligue 1 giants.
Lyon’s reluctance and slowness might not cost them a lot but could certainly derail both players’ confidence so it would be better for the club to come up with an announcement regarding both players in a bid to restore some sanity.
