Question:

Same network, different subnet. How would I set it up so the subnets could access eachother?

I have one network, and two routers. One router is on the subnet 192.168.1.X, and the other is 192.168.2.X. I want 2.X to be able to be accessed from 1.X, and vice versa.

2.X is in client mode for 1.X.

How could I do this?

  1. your routers need to support span tree protocol.

if they don't, then it will never work. they won't be able to see each other.

    also look at your subnet.

your going to want to change your class C (255.255.255), to (255.255.252.0). the mask determines the range

  2. the other people who answered are totally full of c**p.  they're obviously spamming.

in the second router, put the other router's ip address as the gateway.

  3. You have to change the subnet mask...It probably is set to

255.255.255.0  since you are using 192.168.x.x

You can use a subnet mask of 255.255.252.0 which will then allow the range of 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.3.254 to communicate!

    See the subnet calc at

    http://www.subnet-calculator.com/subnet....

The MASK determines usable range of IPs within the network!
