If the same soul[atman] is present in everyone and in every organism,

and if it is omnipresent, what is the need for us to give respect to elders?

If Me and my Father are the same , then why is this difference?

  1. ..Yeah You are totally right my dear. So here the answer of your question.. All we are having one soul, it is your question..So we give respect not to our elders but the younger ones too because.. The very one thing is "LOVE YOURSELF"

    Or I am making it easy to you..: I am saying to me, I am loving my self.

    it means I am loving all souls. Because all souls/beings are belong to me. We all are one.

    And here I am asking you what is the meaning of parmatma( God){ it is a hindi word}

    it means PARAM + ATMA.  when we get to know about ourself we become paramatma( our soul becomes paramatma).

    "Param" means Great. And "atma" means Soul.

    In short:param meaning great and aatma God is called Paramatma because he is holier than individual soul..

  2. Because it is necessary to respect ALL things. Including yourself. That simple.

  3. The respect you show others is in direct proportion to the respect you have for life itslef.

  4. Body, Spirit, and soul are different. Body is created by God with earthy material with separate identity (barcode).  Spirit is blown into the body by God.  Soul is formed when spirit entered into the body having the separate identity, that is I, my, me, mine etc.  One cannot see the I, my, mine of one person.  Each person only can know.

  5. Good question! We are made up of three components. Soul, body and mind. Soul in its purest form is same in all. But soul acoompanied by mind is not same in all. Mind is created by the body, but it can get attached to the soul during and after body. Mind keeps the soul impurified and unsaturated. Soul gets purified or saturated only if it is detached from the mind. This is the state of salvation (moksha or nizaat). Hence, we all are different in our body, mind and attached soul. We need to respect elders because they cause our formation, grooming and experiences through which we can get purification of our soul for salvation.
