Sameer Verma thrashes Kaushal Dharmamer in third round of Junior National Badminton Championship
Sameer Verma, the most talented shuttler in the younger lot of India, registered an impressive win over Kaushal Dharmamer in Boy’s Singles U19 third round of the 36th Junior National Badminton Championship 2012 in Jaipur, India, on Thursday, February
9.
Sameer, who has been positioned at the top in Boy’s Singles draw, has already proved his worth at international level.
The top seed played in a relaxed mood and did not face any considerable problem from his lower ranked opponent. He won the match in an emphatic fashion and entered into the round-of-16.
On the other hand, Kaushal played well but not enough to trouble his higher ranked challenger and lost the contest in straight games in 27 minutes.
In the opening set of this fight, Sameer took an early lead by playing an attacking game. He kept his rival struggling in all areas of the court with a wonderful deception in his strokes.
Kaushal also played fast game in the opening rallies but lost his control and started to commit errors which helped his rival to get a strong position.
On the contrary, Sameer was composed in the match as he played positive game and set up an impressive lead until the break. His wrist work was impressive which disturbed the flow of his opponent.
After the break, Sameer remained on course and extended his lead by playing remarkable badminton. He faced no trouble from Kaushal in the entire game and won it with a remarkable score of 21-14.
In the second set, Sameer started in a dominating manner as he pushed his rival on the back foot and took an early lead.
The top seed did not face even a meagre resistance from Kaushal, who was struggling in taking the bird early. Until the break, he established a comfortable gap on the score board.
After the break, Sameer continued his roller-coaster performance in the game. He did not let Kaushal to find a good flow and ended the set with an impressive score of 21-11.
This Boy’s Singles U19 contest finished in just 27 minutes with a 21-14 and 21-11 score on the board.
