Sami Pochowski conquers Girl’s 200 yard freestyle title: 2011 High School State Championships
SR Muskego’s Sami Pochowski, SR Arrowhead’s Haley Pietila and SR New Berlin Eisen’s Alli Bellford continued to capture the attention of Wisconsin’s arena at the 2011 High School State Championships, in Madison, during the last weekend.
Pochowski went on to clinch the Girl’s 200 yard freestyle title against her rivals including Abby Jagdfeld of So Wauks/Mukw and Molly Manchon of FR Wauks/Mukw in the swimming puddle by banging the finishing blockade in a thrilling time of 1 minute and 48.41
seconds.
After the race, Jagdfeld settled at second place in a time of 1 minute and 49.89 seconds and Manchon was placed third with a mark of 1 minute and 51.29 seconds, respectively. Meanwhile, Natalie Johnson of JR Cedarburg earned fourth place honours by clicking
the finishing barrier in a blot of 1 minute and 52.64 seconds and Serena Wanasek of JR Bur settled at fifth place in a spot of 1 minute and 52.66 seconds.
Additionally, the Girl’s 200m yard Individual Medley title was clinched by SR Arrowhead’s Haley Pietila in a triumphant mark of 2 minutes and 04.21 seconds. Stephanie Hein of SR Arrowhead earned silver medal in a time of 2 minutes and 05.45 seconds, while
Hannah Lucas of SR Madison Memorial settled at third place by touching the finishing fence in a time of 2 minutes and 06.57 seconds, respectively.
Jessica Short of FR Cedarburg got fourth position by claiming the finishing divider in a time of 2 minutes and 07.56 seconds, while Briana Horozewski of JR Wauk settled fifth in of 2 minutes and 08.16 seconds. Additionally, Kayce Smith of SR Madison Memorial
grabbed sixth place honours in a time of 2 minutes and 08.66 seconds and Natalie Clausen of FR Wauk finished seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 09.06 seconds. Finally, Leah Pronschinske of JR Eau Claire Memor was placed eighth in a blot of 2 minutes and 09.25
seconds.
Moreover, the Girl’s 50 yard freestyle crown was notched by Alli Bellford of SR New Berlin Eisen in a victorious blot of 23.43 seconds. Meanwhile, Kristin Malone of SO Shorewood settled at second spot in a time of 23.50 seconds and Savanna Townsend of JR
SturBay finished third with a spot of 23.92 seconds.
