The Slovenian international has recently joined the Milan outfit from Udinese in the summer transfer window, and his inclusion has seen the veteran goalkeeper pushed back in the pecking order for his team.
Moreover, the Nerazzurri have sidelined the name of the Brazilian from their Europa League squad, signalling that the keeper is no longer wanted by the manager for the upcoming season.
There was an alleged statement from Cesar’s facebook account stating that he has decided to take his exit from San Siro, but the post was later denied by the goalkeeper stressing that it was not his account from where the statement was issued.
Handanovic was asked how he felt at the situation that the Brazilian was facing, to which he replied that the question will be better answered by the keeper himself.
However, the former Udinese-man stated that he has a good rapport with Cesar, and insisted that there is no friction between them due to that fact that he has been brought in to replace him.
The Nerazzurri keeper also stressed that he feels for the goalkeeper after he has been put in a difficult position by his team, and stated that he would not want to feel what it is like to face such a situation.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 28-year-old said:
“How do you feel in that situation? I don’t know, you’d have to ask him. He is a good guy and there are no problems between us. Personally I would never want to find myself in his shoes at the moment, though I don’t really know the dynamics of what happened
after five years together.” He added.
