Samir Nasri claims Old Trafford has lost its fear factor
Arsenal's player of the season so far and quite possibly even the Premier League's best player so far in the season, Samir Nasri has gone ahead and stated that Old Trafford, to him, has lost its fear factor. The player is reported
to have made these claims just a day before Arsenal are scheduled to travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, in a game that would decide who the new league leaders in the Premier League would be.
Previously both teams’ managers, Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson were caught trying to calm the nerves prior to the match. However, despite the fact United's Patrice Evra went ahead and stated that Arsenal were nothing more than
a training centre and then went on to say that the team was still struggling and were in a crisis despite the fact that they were on top of the league. Wenger responded to those comments by stating that there was no need for anyone to get so disrespectful
about the team, but those words seemed to have done very little to no affect on the overall atmosphere of things.
However, it seems Nasri has once again taken things into his hands, as he went on to state that United do not have the same feel about them that they once did and this is despite the fact that Arsenal have not won at Old Trafford
since 2006.
The player is reported to have said, "For me Manchester United is not the same team as before, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Tevez it was a little bit scary to play at Old Trafford,"
Nasri declared.
"Now I don't think offensively they are the same as before, but still they are a good team and when they are 1-0 up is very hard to beat them.
"We will see, but we are really confident to get a result out of this game."
Arsenal have so far shown this season that their away form is far better than their home form, as the team has managed to lose three games at home, while they have managed to win five on the road including a highly impressive shut
up of Manchester City at the Eastlands.
Nasri then went on to add that Arsenal were a different team now, than they were in the past and this was due to the fact, that the team's discipline was at an all time high. This discipline helped the team defenders in becoming
more efficient on the offensive. He then stated that he was more than confident that the team could go on to beat the Red Devils at home and prove to the world that Arsenal were finally in contention for the title once and for all.
Arsene Wenger will be looking to Nasri to man up and continue performing as brilliantly as he has done so far this season, when the team take on United. Arsenal are more than likely to be without Cesc Fabregas since the player
is still a strong doubt for the game. However, they might not miss their captain if Nasri can tap into the form that has seen him go onto to score twelve goals so far this season, out of which most have been a thing of beauty to watch.
With both the teams players looking to go at it already, the match has started to shape up for an encounter for the ages, that being said the ultimate bragging rights are still up for grabs as whoever ends up winning on Monday
night, will have something to talk about for the rest of the season.
