Samir Nasri commits future to Arsenal
After months and months of speculations and rumours floating about, claiming that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 might be on his way out of Arsenal, the midfielder has finally come forth and stated that his future belongs to Arsenal. As a result, the proposed moves stating
the player would be moving to Italy have bitten the dust, as he is looking to extend his current contract with the Gunners.
The midfielder started the season as Arsenal’s standout performer, but has gone on to suffer a major dip in his form in recent weeks. Nasri made his move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in 2008, when he parted ways with Marseille. Since joining Arsenal, the midfielder has gone
on to make 122 appearances for the team and has scored 27 goals, while picking up 15 assists as well.
With only one year being left on his current contract, the midfielder was being heavily linked with a move to either Juventus or Inter Milan. However, last month Arsene Wenger went on to reveal amidst all these speculations that the midfielder was going
to be committing his future to the club in the near future. At that point, it seemed like Wenger was pushing his luck, since Nasri has started to look quite frustrated while taking to the field with the Gunners.
Nonetheless, the twenty three year old French international agent, Alain Migliaccio has come forth and broken the good news to the Gunners fans and insisted that there is nothing to worry about.
The agent is quoted to have said: "The interest from Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan? There is nothing with them.
"There is no break with Arsenal, in fact, we start over negotiations for the extension of the contract which currently expires in 2012."
After reading these comments, Wenger is more than likely to be breathing a sigh of relief. The manager had already started to be on the lookout to bring in a potential replacement for the midfielder last month, but it seems like that won’t be necessary,
just yet.
However, that being said, Wenger really needs to step his game up sooner rather than later. The manager has now seen his squad go six years without any silverware and that is one of the major reasons for a vast number of players being linked with moves out
of the Emirates.
According to most experts, should Arsenal fail to win a trophy next season as well, then the chances of them holding on to their top players is going to be close to impossible.
