Samir Nasri decides against the observance of Ramadan....?

Introduction: Samir Nasri is a young French football star who joined the English Premier League last month to play for Liverpool.

Samir endured a disastrous EURO 08 campaign with the French national team, so he is determined to do his best for Liverpool this season.

So, Samir decided not to observe the month of Ramadan this year. This is particularly because of the hectic summer fixture.

Playing 90 minutes football and fasting is very difficult, but a number of other Muslim footballers such as Mahamadou Diarra has done it before successfully.

So, has Samir taken the right decision?

  1. what a mercenary kind of dude

i guess being muslim doesnt mean much to him

  2. Innit his choice?

Plus, even if we think it's wrong, we can't really go and tell him that. He' ain't goina change fo us is he?

How d'you know he dun that anyway?

  3. It's hard to judge whether he made a right decision or not, but one thing is for sure - he made the decision which he found to be the right one. It's pretty much obvious that he places his career above religion *shrugs shoulders* His life really :)

  4. I think its fine...his livelihood requires him to exert himself physically and hydration is a major factor in his performance.   He's been given a skill that most others do not have, why not use it?

Plus i view it, that the more money you have, the more potential for good you can do with it.

  5. no matter it Samir Nasri or zidan it is their own problem and every one will

face Allah on the day of judgement and that day Samir Nasri or Zidane or

    satanSalman Rushdi have no excuse

  6. I think people know what is right and what is wrong including Samir

Some people chose Ajir By obeying Allah and some people chose Ejoor (money) and obeying their desire

  7. It's a really personal decision and I'm not going to criticize him for it.

While some people may be able to play a highly energy-consuming sport for an hour and a half without drinking water, it's definitely not a safe thing to do, especially when training time is included and Ramadan occurs in summer and London is located significantly farther north than Madrid and therefore the days are longer.

  8. He has sold his religion for a paltry price. If you knew the reward for fasting you would never give this up.

“O you who believe! fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious).” (Qur’an, 2:183)

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: “Allah said: All the deeds of Adam’s children belong to them, except fasting, which belongs to me and I will reward it. Fasting is a shield (against h**l and against sins). If one of you happens to be fasting he should avoid sexual relations with his wife, and should avoid quarrelling. Should someone fight or quarrel with him let him say, ‘I am fasting.’ By Him in Whose hand my soul is, the smell from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than that of the musk.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
