http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 to decide his future with Arsenal in summer
Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has claimed that he will decide whether he will be staying with the Gunners at the end of the current 2010-11 season of the Barclays Premier League.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international’s current contract with the London club runs out at the end of next season.
The Frenchman has been a part of the Gunners squad since the summer of 2008, but he has only risen to prominence in the current season. He has been hugely influential for Arsenal, establishing himself as a strong contender for the Player of the Season award.
Nasri’s spectacular performances in the current campaign have ensured that many of the biggest clubs in Europe keep a close eye on him.
However, Nasri remains unconcerned with all the attention. The Frenchman claims that he is fully focused on his role as an Arsenal player, saying that he will consider his future at Emirates at the end of the current season of the Premier League. Nasri claimed
that he joined the Gunners to help them win titles, and he will not be content until he helps the club end its long-standing trophy drought.
The Gunners have failed to win any sort of silverware since their 2005 FA Cup triumph, and Nasri says he is keen to change that.
The midfielder said, “One of the reasons I came to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 was to win titles and I'm not expecting to leave without one. I'm always flattered when my name is mentioned in connection with any big club. As things are right now, I feel happy here and I have
the confidence from the manager (Arsene Wenger).”
He added, “But things can change quickly in football and then we could have a new situation. We (Nasri and his agent) promised each other to speak about this subject after the season ends.”
It seems that Nasri’s ambition of winning titles with Arsenal will be fulfilled this season. Arsenal are in a strong position in both the FA Cup and Carling Cup competitions, as well as being strong contenders for the Premier League crown. To put icing on
the cake, the Gunners are also in with a real shot of winning the current Champions League title.
Arsenal have a chance to keep up the pressure on the Premier League leaders Manchester United when they face Stoke City on 23 February, 2011.
