French international and Arsenal attacking midfielder, Samir Nasri, will not leave club in the summer transfer window, as it is believed that the Gunners will offer him a new contract deal at the end of this season.
In recent times, Nasri has been linked with a move away from Emirates as reports claimed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Juventus are desperate to get the signature of Nasri for the next Serie A League season.
Nasri’s agent, Alain Migliaccio, has played-down his speculated move to Milan and Juventus as he believes that his move to Italy is not on the cards.
The 23-year old, Nasri has remained a star performer for Gunners in this English edition, as he has already taken his scoring tally to 15 goals for the season. Because of his excellent performances, he was short-listed for the Player of the Year Award (PFA),
which was eventually won by Tottenham Hotspur’s, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
He still has a year remaining under his current contract, but Arsenal is willing to reward him with an early extension because of exemplary performances he has given after leaving Marseille in summer 2008.
Nasri’s representative, Alain Migliaccio while dismissing rumours of his transfer move to Italy, claimed that negotiation talks have started with Arsenal over a new contract deal for Nasri. He said “The interest from Juventus and Inter Milan? There is nothing
with them. There is no break with Arsenal, in fact, we start over negotiations for the extension of the contract which currently expires in 2012”.
Last month, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 manager, Arsene Wenger, had expressed his optimism about Nasri’s chances to commit his long-term future with the Gunners. Wenger also revealed that talks over the new deal have started. He said “We are talking to Nasri and his agent already
and we have the same situation with Clichy. We have agreed to speak about it during the summer”.
Arsene Wenger is expected to make some drastic changes in Arsenal’s team this summer transfer season after failing to end their six year trophy drought.
Despite the fact Nasri has not found the back of the net since mid-January, it seems that Wenger wants to retain him to execute his future plans. The French international is playing his third season with Gunners, and has scored 27 goals for them in over
120 appearances.
It is on the record books that Nasri, before the start of this year, stated that he will quit Arsenal should they win the Premier League title. He hinted a transfer move to the Catalan giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
But now after Arsenal is no longer in the running for the Premier League title, Nasri is expected to prolong his stay at Emirates stadium.
