The English all-rounder, Samit Patel, has said that he is aware of the challenges posed by his weight and fitness while hoping for his Test debut against Sri Lanka after being included in the squad. The youngster was included in the side as a replacement

After earning his ODI debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 in 2008, the Test cap has so far eluded the 27-year-old all-rounder. With 25 ODIs under his belt, he has taken 23 wickets including a single 5-wicket haul. On the batting side, the youngster has scored a fifty

"It's probably an issue that will stay with me, but I'm not frustrated. The more work you do, the better you feel. Hopefully I am doing the right things now."
His successful performance at the international level during recent months has helped him attract the attention of selectors. Samit now looks all set to feature in the upcoming Test series against the Lankans.
